The Medal of Honor series are simulation games that allow the gamerz to take on the role of a soldier in a historical wartime scenario such as WW II.
The Halo series is a setting that takes place in a distant possible future where humans are at war with an advanced alien race.
The Ghost Recon series presents excellent videogame play featuring squad-based tactical shooter.  Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is a first person shooter=FPS video game.
Listed below are 10 war video games for gamerz to explore.

1) Halo
The Halo series of science fiction games is very popular with teenaged gamers. You can battle with your friends or online with gamerz all over the world. You go to different maps and battle it out and the team who kills the other one the most wins. There are many weapons, bombs, vehicles, etc. in this video game that make it exciting and fun. There are guns in this one for you shooter fans. Halo is best known for being a multiplayer videogame that a whole group of people can enjoy playing together.
The main character is Master Chief, a super soldier and his AI sidekick, Cortana who make war against the Covenant, a group of alien races.
Gamerz who prefer this game above all other war video games are known as the Halo Nation.
2) Halo 4
Halo 4 is a fantastic new beginning for Microsoft’s flagship first person shooter and war video games genre. This game will probably be the last game in the Halo series to grace this generation. Halo 4 has been developed by 343 Studios who have carried on from Bungie and now control the Halo franchise. Many game players were anxious but 343 has surpassed most peoples’ expectations.
Halo 4 is a cinematic masterpiece. This is easily one of the best looking games on the Xbox 360 and probably one of the best for the console generation. Playing Halo 4 is likened to being in a Hollywood movie that is set in a massive intergalactic war. The game play is really tight and as well as your traditional human and conventional weapons, you now also have some awesome new forerunner weapons to wreck havoc with.
Halo 4 is the most story-driven of all the Halo games and it is the start of a whole new trilogy of Halo games. If you are someone who is new to the Halo series, you will be able to jump right in and have a good idea of what is happening. Halo 4 is easily one of the best first person shooter/war genre titles of the year.

3) Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldiers
The latest edition of the ghost recon series is a continuation of the excellent video game play of the last few entries in this series. The squad based tactical shooter is always one of the more popular types of items among war video games. However, few get the genre right continually like the Ghost Recon series.
Future soldiers advance the time line slightly with this video game where many of the modern war fare tactics and equipment types that are actually being developed are completed and fully working to gamers' delight. This includes active camouflage among other things. The Ghost Recon soldiers are able to render themselves effectively invisible in limited ways. The squad-based mechanics allow for artificial intelligence or for four video gamers to get together and play. Either way, this is a very popular videogame series.

4) R.U.S.E
This World War II-esque video game provides several combined concepts to present one of the more interesting and unique war video games on the market. This real-time strategy game incorporates actual strategy elements in the manner of RUSES.
These act in a manner similar to a global spell on the game screen. There are ten types and each one has a specific effect that can distract, damage, or simply confuse the enemy so that gamers can sneak their troops in and lay waste to them in copious amounts of strategic carnage. Decoy buildings and airfields are a few ruses available. The entire video game is focused around tricking your opponent and winning the war more through guile and subterfuge than by farming resources. In fact, there is no resource farming. The game automatically bankrolls you every second. For those gamerz who like their war mongering with a dose of strategy and less frustration, R.U.S.E. will make them quite happy.
Note: Farming is a gamer term describing the practice of killing weak monsters or enemies in large numbers in a bid to gain easy experience and money. See the video gamer terms glossary at gamerisms for more information.

5) Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3
War video games do not have to be historically accurate to be labeled as such. Any game designed with a war as the primary concept can technically be considered part of the massive video game genre. As such many shooters, strategy games, and even role-playing games of some types may all be considered a war game. Command & Conquer is one of the most beloved franchises in the real-time strategy for war gamerz.
Red Alert 3 continues the wacky fun by adding in a time travel element that changes history to give rise to the Empire of The Rising Sun. The acting is hammed up and the units that can be created are just as interesting and bizarre as ever. Floating fortresses that are able to be attacked by intelligent dolphins is interesting. Give those dolphins sonic disruptors and that's just plain fun. Overall, for gamers whose desires are for a real-time strategy nature, this is a must have.

6) Call of Duty: Black Ops 2
With no sign of a slowdown and millions of games already sold, gamers are excited about the latest Call of Duty war video games title.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is the follow up to the very popular Black Ops and is proving to be a big budget over the top war game. The single player campaign is arguably the best in the entire Call of Duty franchise. It may be a little linear, but the huge action packed set pieces more than make up for it. You get the chance to play in the future and harness some really amazing weapons.
Of course it would not be a Call of Duty game without some remarkable online multi player action. It is well known that the Call of Duty series is one of the most crowded online communities and there are always playing opportunities and opponents ready for action.
7) Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Perhaps the most anticipated of war video games in years, this title burst onto the scene in November of 2009. Available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC, this title was known as the king of first person shooter games. With non-stop military action taking passionate gamers from Afghanistan to Washington D.C., this game will be talked about for years to come. Online multiplayer games within the game make for endless replay value.

8) Medal of Honor: Airborne war video games genre and reviews
This World War II game is set in Europe and highlights paratrooper action. Gamers become PFC Boyd Travers of the US 82nd Airborne Division in these role-playing war video games. The gamer moves into action with a parachute jump into enemy territory that may be in Italy, Germany or France armed with a mission that must be completed. In multiplayer mode online, gamerz can select their position as Allies or Axis defending the positions of enemy paratroopers.
This war video games title is upgraded in that gamerz can begin the game with a decision as to where they will land as a paratrooper, unlike Allied Assault.

9) Transformers: Fall of Cybertron
The video game title, Fall of Cybertron is the sequel to the War of Cybertron game that was released a few years back. Once again, you will get to play as both Autobots and the Decepticons while reliving the huge civil war that destroyed their home world of Cybertron.
Transformers: Fall of Cybertron is a third person shooter, war video games genre title that boasts a vehicle section as well. You can play a collection of your favourite characters from the classic cartoon series. There is the inclusion on the roster of Grimlock, the leader of the Dinobots who has the ability to turn into a giant T-Rex. If you want to turn the tide of war in your favour, there is no better way than by turning into a robot dinosaur. The story in this game is remarkable and many Transformers fans believe that the story is far better than any of the Hollywood Transformers movies.
Additionally, there is a tremendous single player campaign that lets you play from both sides along with a very solid multi-player game as well. You have various game modes that will have you playing as either Autobots or Decepticons. Go ahead and customize your Transformer with this exciting war genre video game title.

10) Gears of War
A first person shooter game that would make any gamer person happy to play. Gamerz play the role of Marcus Fenix along with soldiers of Delta Squad who war against the enemy, Locust Horde from the planet Sera. The game is exactly what it sounds like, all about war. You shoot and you blow things up. Gears of War can be played in multiplayer war game mode for up to 8 players.
This franchise has evolved into books, comics, and a feature film.

Note: at gamerisms, both the terms gamers and gamerz are used when referring to players.
